Cades Cove, located in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is a fertile valley in the heart of these mountains. The attributes that once attracted settlers to this area now attract incredible numbers of tourists each year, making this one of the most visited areas in the Smokies. Moments of solitude and quiet landscapes can still be found here, however. My favorite time to visit is early morning, as when this photo of a forest meadow was taken.
