across this little speckled fawn one afternoon quite by accident.
His mother had left him in a safe, dry place on this rainy summer
day (notice his wet head). It is not uncommon for white-tail does
to leave their fawns for long stretches while they feed. This
is normal behavior and is no cause for alarm. So, if you ever
run across a fawn sleeping alone, NEVER touch or move it. Rest
assured its mother will return soon. I used a 400mm telephoto
lens to photograph the little guy without disturbing him.
