I ran across this little speckled fawn one afternoon quite by accident. His mother had left him in a safe, dry place on this rainy summer day (notice his wet head). It is not uncommon for white-tail does to leave their fawns for long stretches while they feed. This is normal behavior and is no cause for alarm. So, if you ever run across a fawn sleeping alone, NEVER touch or move it. Rest assured its mother will return soon. I used a 400mm telephoto lens to photograph the little guy without disturbing him.
